More and more people are being held up at gun point and in three different cases people went to withdraw a large sum of money and were then followed and help up.

The most recent incident occurred on Friday, December 1 when a resident from eMalaleni went to a bank to withdraw a large sum of money; he was with his wife and a friend. After leaving the bank, he decided it would be best to split the money, so he gave his friend half. He then drove to Builders Warehouse, to purchase a couple of items for the house.

As he parked his vehicle he noticed that there was a silver Volkswagen behind him, and it had five occupants. Two of the suspects climbed out of the vehicle when he parked his car and held the driver at gun point. The suspects took the cash from the driver and his friend and drove off.

On Tuesday, November 28 a resident from Ridge View Estate went to withdraw money from a bank then drove home. When he got to the security gate, waiting for the boom gate to open he was robbed by armed men who followed him to the house from the bank.

The suspects were armed and pulled out a firearm as the resident entered the complex; they robbed him of all his money and then drove off.

The robbery that took place at Ridge View estate last week, the resident was followed after withdrawing money from a bank.

A day earlier on the Monday, November 27 another robbery occurred at Reyno Manor security complex. A resident’s father from the complex went to withdraw money from a bank, and then drove to the complex.

Not knowing that he was being followed, he swiped his tag to enter into the complex and as the boom gate opened up, the vehicle with the suspects in it tailgated into the complex.

It is alleged that he was followed all the way to his house. When he realised something was wrong he turned around and went back to the security gate where he was robbed of his money by armed suspects.
Once they got the money they drove off.
