Marketing drugs has reached new heights.

A Whatsapp group on which learners of well known schools in eMalahleni are swopping information about drug dealers was discovered recently. This gives a glimpse of the innovative ways in which drug related information is circulated.

The group that has 22 active users gives information about drug dealers, their contact numbers and even where they deliver.

WITBANK NEWS phoned the numbers on the group. Some of the youngsters did not answer their phones and those who did, denied being on the group. Others blame it on friends who allegedly added them.

This is how information about drugs and drug dealers are distributed amongst learners.

One of the Whatsapp users said he is only friends with the participants on the group, however he is one of the administrators who posts contact details of suspected drug dealers and the area in which they allegedly deliver drugs.

There are also some incriminating messages he sent from his cell phone wherein he spreads the word of a drug dealer in Tasbet Park who according to him supplies anything.

The principal of one of the schools said they have handed the matter over to the police for investigation.
Police spokesperson Capt Eddie Hall was shocked when he learned of the Whatsapp group.
“We were not aware of this group. Drugs especially dagga is a common problem particularly in secondary schools of eMalahleni,” Capt Hall said.
