VANDERBIJLPARK. – With dual citizenship, Ethan Olivier has the athletic world at his feet. Ethan, a 19-year-old former student at High School Overvaal in Vereeniging, is a triple jump sensation. He proved his mettle again when he won the men’s triple jump on March 26 at the Grand Prix 3 series with a great leap of 16.65m.
He is currently competing for New Zealand. Born in Auckland in New Zeeland in 2005 this youngster was approached in 2022 after the South African High Schools Athletics Championships to compete for his country of birth.
For the first five years of his life, he stayed in the East Auckland suburb of Pakuranga before his parents decided to return to the country of their birth after the death of a family member.
