Suspects arrested after business robbery in Meyerton

“Preliminary investigations revealed that all six occupants committed a business robbery at a liquor store in Meyerton. They were found in possession of firearms.”

KLIPRIVIER – The Kliprivier police working together with various security companies, arrested six suspects who were fleeing following a robbery incident that occurred in Meyerton.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Tintswalo Ndhambi reports that the incident happened on September 18 around 12:00.

“A Toyota Corolla that was driving at high speed on the old Johannesburg Road (R82) crashed into a truck. When this happened, all six occupants started shooting at security guards who were chasing after them.”

Ndhambi said all six suspects were subsequently apprehended.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that all six occupants committed a business robbery at a liquor store in Meyerton. They were found in possession of firearms.”

Sedibeng District Police Commissioner General Nkhensani Lemba applauded the team for working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects who were running away and for seizing dangerous weapons.
