MooiVaal Media once again hosts MTN8 media crew and legends

The aim of the trophy tour is to mobilise soccer fans in Gauteng for the first and second legs of the MTN8 semi-finals.

SEDIBENG. – MooiVaal Media once again had the privilege to host the MTN8 Media Trophy Tour on Tuesday.

The MTN8 media crew were accompanied by two former soccer legends: former Orlando Pirates Captain Lucky Lekgwathi and former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Lehlohonolo Majoro.

These two legends are part of former professional players who are MTN8 ambassadors.

The aim of the trophy tour is to mobilise soccer fans in Gauteng for the first and second legs of the MTN8 semi-finals. Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City, Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch are the four teams that are in the semi-finals. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the two legends said being part of MTN8 is a privilege. They stated that sharing their experience with soccer fans and the media is something that they enjoy a lot.

When asked which team is going to be crowned the MTN8 champions this season, the two didn’t hesitate in saying that Pirates stand a good chance to defend the title. Pirates beat Sundowns last season and was crowned the champions. This was the second time Pirates was crowned as the MTN8 champions and it will be very interesting to see if they can win it for a third time.

“I have no doubt that Pirates will defend their title and make history by winning it for the third time in a row. The good thing about Pirates is they have been with their coach for the past three years and they signed good players at the beginning of the season,” said Lekgwathi.
