Misinformation is doing the rounds on social media regarding an outdated advertisement for the recruitment of 10,000 entry level police trainees.

SEDIBENG. – The South African Police Service (SAPS) has warned the public following a scam that has been circulating on social media platforms regarding police job vacancies.
Misinformation is doing the rounds on social media regarding an outdated advertisement for the recruitment of 10,000 entry level police trainees.
SAPS reported receiving numerous inquiries about the advertisement, which concerns the 2024/2025 intake.
However, the application process for this intake already closed on August 31, 2023.
Currently, the first batch of 4,500 trainees has commenced training at various SAPS academies nationwide.
The second batch, consisting of 5,500 recruits, is scheduled to begin training in January 2025.
This process is still being finalised.
