MIDVAAL.- The Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) has announced an installation of a mini-library booth at the Lakeside Library.

The mini booth is equipped with a computer featuring special software programs and functionalities tailored to the needs of visually impaired patrons. This technology can be used for both work and leisure purposes.

Additionally, the library allows patrons to download audiobooks for their listening pleasure.

According to the municipality this is the first library in Midvaal to receive the booth.

The booth is dedicated to serving the needs of individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

This is a joint initiative between MLM and blind-lib SA.

“This initiative aims to enhance library services for blind and visually impaired persons. It will provide a dedicated workstation for the visually impaired and function as a mini library for its users.”

“We encourage visually impaired members of the Midvaal communities, both young and old, to take advantage of this free service.”
