Mistaken identity of deceased rectified

Ster North would like to apologise to the family of Teboho Abraham Mokoena and to our readers for this error.

VEREENIGING – Ster North recently reported about the body of the 23-year-old Sakhumuzi Nhlapo that was discovered near the Selborne Primary School on Thursday, July 4, after he was allegedly attacked at the Old Vereeniging Hospital in Kruger Street in Leeuhof. The police are currently investigating a case of murder.
After the story was published, we were subsequently notified that the person who appeared on the photograph is not Sakhumuzi Nhlapo, but is in fact Teboho Abraham Mokoena, who died of natural causes.
The photograph was posted on a local WhatsApp group following the incident at Old Vereeniging Hospital, which led Ster North to believe that this was a photograph of the deceased person (Sakhumuzi Nhlapo). This seems to have been a case of mistaken identity.
Ster North would like to apologise to the family of Teboho Abraham Mokoena and to our readers for this error.
