Woman’s body found along Golden Highway

Community members were passing by Golden Highway, when they saw human feet in the sewage stream, and they Immediately called the police.

SEBOKENG. – An Inquest investigation is underway after a body of woman was found in a sewage stream next to Zone 19, Golden Highway in Sebokeng today, Tuesday.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said community members were passing by Golden Highway, when they saw human feet in the sewage stream, and they immediately called the police.

“Upon arrival they were able to pull out the body of a woman from the stream. She was later identified by her cousin as Lerato Nyakane (30), residing at Azania Sebokeng,” Mokhachane said.

The police plead with the community members not to wait 24 hours to report a missing person, as there is no time frame to report a person as missing. An Investigation is ongoing and the cause of death of Nyakane is currently unknown.
