Two arrested for possession of hijacked truck in Deneysville

The two suspects appeared before the Sasolburg Magistrate Court on Friday, October 20, for possession of hijacked truck.

Free State police arrested two suspects aged between 30 and 38 in Refengkhotso in Deneysville for possession of a hijacked truck.

On Wednesday, 18 October 2023 the Zamdela Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) members received a tip off that a truck was being tampered with at a certain church in Refengkhotso.

The members requested backup and the Fezile Dabi District Trio Task Team, Highway Patrol Relief B and Deneysville Detectives responded swiftly.

Upon arrival, the truck was spotted at the church premises, and two African males were found busy tampering with the truck. When the suspects noticed the police, they tried to flee the scene, but members apprehended the suspects.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the truck was hijacked on Wednesday,17 October 2023 at Boksburg North. The two suspects were arrested and the truck was confiscated.
