Basadi Occupational Health assists clients to become legally compliant

Basadi Occupational Health's services are available from 07:00 until 16:00, Mondays to Fridays.

Basadi Occupational Health was established in 2002 by a group of Occupational Health Practitioners, mainly women, practicing in Vanderbijlpark and expanded later to Sasolburg and Secunda. Since then the company has been rendering occupational health services to contractors as well as to small and medium size companies from the Vaal Triangle and other major centra in South Africa.

Mrs Ingrid Coleman, CEO of Basadi Occupational Health.

The focus of Basadi Occupational Health is to provide a one-stop service to its clients, mainly independent contractors. In a nutshell, Basadi’s aim is to render an Occupational Health Service by highly qualified Occupational Health Professionals, to all companies that have the legal liability to have their employees examined and declared fit for work, as prescribed by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and/or the Mine Health and Safety Act.

According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, employees have to be examined according to the risk that they are exposed to as well as man job specifications. Section 8 of this Act stipulates the duties of the employer. Medical Surveillance flows out of the Risk Assessment as regulated by Section 8. Basadi requires man job specifications prior to the execution of the medical examinations to ensure that employees are examined according to the risks identified. In doing this the employer then complies with the Act.

“We are passionate about legal compliance and relevant standard adherence and will assist our clients to do exactly that: Become legally compliant. Our company offers a comprehensive and cost-effective service that is supported by an effective management system,” says CEO Mrs Ingrid Coleman.
Basadi Occupational Health’s current structure consists of a Medical Practitioner who specializes in Occupational Health, two Occupational Health Practitioners who ensure quality of operations, a Chartered Accountant who attends to the financial side, and an Operations Director.
