WATCH: Fisherman captured the Vaal River accident, as it happened

The incident occurred on the Vaal River near Spider Valley Road. Chilling footage of the accident which was caught on camera on Saturday has been made public. In a video, sent to Vaalweekblad, a capsized boat can be seen in the river. At the scene ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell said: “The man explained that the boat was taking on water when it capsized.” On Saturday, one of the bodies was recovered, but four people were still missing overnight. Their bodies were found on Sunday. Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said the bodies of the victims were recovered close to Sasolburg in the Free State. “All seven passengers have now been accounted for, with five fatalities confirmed.”
