Woman critically injured in Vanderbijlpark rollover

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Shawn Herbst, Media Liaison Officer for Netcare 911 reported that at 12:30 Friday afternoon, 23 August, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the corners of Ravel Street and Vaal River Drive in Sylviavale AH, Vanderbijlpark.

Reports from the scene indicate that two light delivery vehicle were involved in a collision resulting in one of the bakkies rolling several times. Paramedics assessed the scene and found that an adult female was ejected from the bakkie during the rollover and was driven over by another vehicle. The patient sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise her.

Two other patients from the bakkie had sustained minor injuries, the patients were assessed on scene and found to be in a stable condition. After assessment, the two patients had declined ambulance transportation to hospital.

The seriously injured patient was treated on scene and once stabilised were transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
