How to make a popcorn tree

Discover how a handful of popcorn, some twigs, glue, and paint can come together to create a truly one-of-a-kind work of art.

Making a tree out of popcorn is a fun and creative activity that you can do with your child, and it’s a perfect way to celebrate nature.

Popcorn trees are simple to make, and the best part is that you can use items that you already have at home. In this feature, we will provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to help your child make a tree out of popcorn.

Items you will need

  • A4 white cardboard
  • White glue or hot glue
  • A small bowl of popcorn
  • Green paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Small twigs
  • Black marker (optional)

How to make it

  1. Use a hot glue gun to glue some small twigs to the white cardboard. If you can’t find twigs, you can draw the twigs on with a black marker.
  2. Help your child glue the popcorn pieces all around the little branches of their twigs.
  3. Once stuck, your child can paint the popcorn pieces different colours.
