Materials
- A cardboard tube (toilet paper or kitchen roll)
- Scissors
- Black or coloured cardboard
- A clear plastic sheet (from a plastic bag or even clingwrap)
- Colourful beads or sequins
- A glue stick
- A ruler
- Clear tape
Instructions
- Cut the cardboard tube in half lengthwise.
- Cut a strip of cardboard paper to fit around the outside of the tube. Glue the paper to the tube, wrapping it around and overlapping the edges. This will be the outside of the kaleidoscope.
- Cut a circular piece of clear plastic to fit one end of the tube. Glue it to the inside of the tube.
- Cut another circular piece of clear plastic to fit the other end of the tube. Glue it to the outside of the tube.
- Cut a strip of cardboard to fit around the inside of the tube. Glue it to the tube, overlapping the edges.
- Cut a small piece of clear plastic and tape it to the inside of the tube, directly across from the circular piece at the end of the tube.
- Fill the inside of the tube with colourful beads or sequins. You can use a variety of shapes and sizes to create different patterns.
- Finally, tape the other half of the cardboard tube to the open end of the kaleidoscope to close it up.
