The Premier Soccer League strugglers have only eight points out of a possible 30 from their 10 league appearances.
But what went wrong this season for a team that finished eighth in the Premiership in their debut season last year?
The biggest challenge is the availability of “quality players” which coach Steve Barker said that the club doesn’t have the money to bring in, and the gelling of players, which the coach should have got right by now.
Since the departure of Mame Niang to SuperSport United, Aubrey Ngoma to Orlando Pirates and Bongani Zungu to Mamelodi Sundowns, the club have struggled.
Following the team’s third successive loss – a 3-0 hammering from Polokwane City at the weekend – Barker will head into the next match against AmaZulu on Saturday under immense pressure.
Barker has confirmed that he spoke to Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane about the possibility of loaning players.
But it is understood that Sundowns did not agree to release out-of-favour midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni, above.
