The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder should be delighted at the prospect of facing his former club, Ajax Cape Town, in the Nedbank Cup last-32 as it is the club where he cut his teeth as a young footballer.
Sundowns face the Urban Warriors in this season’s opening round of South Africa’s version of the FA Cup.
Billiat has shone for Sundowns since joining the Chloorkop side in the close season.
More often than not, players want to annihilate their former employers when the opportunity arises.
Interestingly, the teams faced each other last season in the opening round of the same competition with Sundowns 1-0 home victors.
Billiat’s combination with Dove Wome, Hlompho Kekana and Bongani Zungu has been brilliant to watch this season.
Wome and Zungu also joined in the close season. Wome and Billiat have each scored three goals this season.
The Brazillians are currently away in Zambia on their mid-season break.
Whether their swords are sharp or not will be tested next Thursday when they face Kaizer Chiefs in a top of the table clash.
It will be a test of whether they were able to gather anything from Lusaka to help mesmerise the domestic sides in the second round of the Absa Premiership.
But when it comes to Sundowns, it is a case of if Billiat is marked then all the supply is gone for Sundowns.
With Ajax having groomed the attacking Zimbabwean midfielder, it will be interesting to see if the Urban Warriors will be able to outsmart him when they face their prodigal son in the Nedbank Cup.
