Rock-a-Tutu Dance Academy to showcase dance talent

Rock-a-Tutu Dance Academy presents 'For the love of dance' 2022 showcase at Ken Gampu Theatre on September 30.

Rock-a-Tutu Dance Academy will host a production showcase at Ken Gampu Theatre (Springs Civic Theatre) on September 30, performing well-rehearsed moves by the academy’s dance students.
Principal Kayleigh Ashton said the showcase that promises to be exciting and energetic will bring out the hard work that the dancers at the academy have been learning and rehearsing throughout the year.
The dance experience will bring together dancers from the age of three to adults. It will feature a range of classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, Acro dancing and Aerial Acro.
“I am very excited to be hosting the event as this will be my first showcase since I took over as the principal at the academy this year,” said Kayleigh.
With the help of her co-workers, Lisa Padeiro and Cayla van Breda, preparations for the dance experience are sailing smoothly.

“We’ve been working extremely hard with choreographing, rehearsals and behind-the-scenes work. Every Saturday our senior dances rehearse for nine hours on stage.
“Thank you to Veritas College for allowing us to use their stage for rehearsals,” said Kayleigh.
Kayleigh added it took dedication and commitment from teachers, pupils and their parents to prepare for the show.
“We are expecting an awesome turnout, tickets are selling fast and we couldn’t be more excited to share dances with everyone,” said Kayleigh.
The showcase will be held over two days. Guests will be presented with an opening night on September 29 and two shows on October 1.
Tickets are R160 per person. For more information contact Kayleigh on 084 518 5107.
