MTN Joyous Celebration set to take the stage

MTN Joyous Celebration is back with The Rock

The world-acclaimed gospel ensemble, MTN Joyous Celebration, has announced its return with a series of virtual shows starting from October 25.
Following a period of uncertainty across the globe due to Covid-19, the gospel music powerhouse is ready to stage its first virtual, world-class show, presenting the “Praise” segment of their latest offering, MTN Joyous Celebration 24.
Gospel music revellers and MTN Joyous Celebration supporters and followers will be treated to an evening packed with the beautiful sounds they have come to love from the comfort of their homes, when the group showcases select music and songs in a 90-minute high-energy show from their 2020 album titled The Rock.

Lindelani Mkhize, one of the founding members of the choir, said they were excited to return to the stage.
“The pandemic delayed us in offering our Rock (the fans) the normal spectacular and extravaganza we stage annually at their doorsteps with a nationwide tour.
“The benefit of streaming the concert live is that we can connect with the broader Joyous family across the globe at the same time.
“Whether you’re in Johannesburg, London, Lagos, Nairobi or the US, we hope our fans will buy tickets to the show.
“We have taken time to prepare and we assure viewers of an electric experience when Joyous comes to their living rooms, offices, bedrooms, churches or any other place of their choice on October 25,” said Mkhize.
MTN Joyous Celebration has cemented its position as trailblazers in the industry, and if the previous shows are anything to go by, it can be expected that the stage will be on fire.
Pastor Jabu Hlongwane, co-founder of the choir, added the pandemic literally brought the world to its knees in 2020, resulting in widespread suffering in the past nine months.

“We have seen our neighbours and loved ones perish, people lose their livelihoods, and it was tough for us not to be physically able to be a shoulder to lean on and an outlet for comfort and reassurance.
“We trust that the Joyous repertoire and collection of albums from previous years was a welcome substitute and we are grateful today that we can come to our fans and say we are back.
“We have returned, even more determined to soothe and heal those who still need their spirits lifted.
“The gathering may be different, as the current status quo still restricts us, but the experience is a guaranteed phenomenon.
“We are starting to make up for lost time and strongly believe that sooner rather than later we will also have the opportunity to be physically together,” said Hlongwane.
The 90-minute extravaganza will be streamed live from 7pm.
To be part of this experience, buy your ticket at Computicket or Shoprite/Checkers stores nationwide, giving you access to the live stream show as it happens.
