Get fit around your house with these exercises

YouTube has plenty of of exercise videos to choose from that don't involve any fancy gym equipment.

The extension of the lockdown has meant gyms and similar places will remain closed for some time.

Many of us have found ourselves with more time on our hands.

• Do some housework

You will be amazed how many calories you burn while cleaning your house.

I don’t mean the regular sweeping and wiping the floors.

I’m talking about deep cleaning, tackling all those odd jobs you’ve been putting off.

For example, when was the last time you washed your curtains or cleaned your blinds?

• Clean out your garage

Those with garages will know how quickly the junk can pile up in there.

Some of those things were put there with good intentions, but most of us have already forgotten about them.

How about going through everything and seeing what’s worth keeping and what needs to be thrown out.

You could even have a garage sale after the lockdown ends.

• Recreate your favourite marathon

If you’re an avid runner and missing hitting the pavement, how about running around your garden.

Many on social media have discovered how many laps around the garden equal five or 10km.

• Reorganise your house

Aren’t you tired of sleeping in the same corner of the house?

Why not move things around and change the layout of your house.

You’ll be amazed by the difference once you’re finished.

• Join an exercise class

Many fitness bloggers and personal trainers have started to offer free exercise classes during the lockdown.

YouTube has plenty of of exercise videos to choose from that don’t involve any fancy gym equipment.

Give it a go and you might just surprise yourself.
