Support our local boys

The parents are hoping that this trip will provide an opportunity for their sons’ talents to be recognised and to receive scholarships.

Two local swimmers, Byron Buckley and Connor Kruger, have been chosen to represent their school, Saint Benedict, at a swimming gala in the United States of America on August 9 to August 19.

In order to raise funds for their trip, Springs Country Club will be hosting an American Swim Golf Day for these outstanding swimmers.

The fund-raising event will take place on April 12. The schools and parents are kindly asking the community to donate holes and prizes.

The trip will cost R39 000 per learner, including accommodation, flights and food.

The costs for the event include R1000 per four-ball and R250 per person, and holes can be sponsored at R1000 each.

There will also be a prize-giving ceremony and a “grab and go” wors roll.

Tee off time is at 8am.

The parents have posted advertisements for the event all over Springs but are still short of the required total needed for both boys to attend the event.

The boys will be visiting cities such as New York and Washington.

The parents are hoping that this trip will provide an opportunity for their sons’ talents to be recognised and to receive scholarships.

The students said that they were ‘hyped’ about the competition and excited to be visiting America for the first time and hope to do well.
