“Tag, you’re it!”
Anyone who grew up in an era before PlayStation, Xbox, Wii, streaming and social media will probably remember this battle cry, which was shouted while playing tag (that’s a game, by the way, not something you do on Facebook).
And while most people might have fond memories of chasing their chums around the playground, for five friends the game’s not over yet, and they are prepared to risk their jobs, relationships and even their lives to avoid being ‘it’.
In 1983, at age nine, Hogan, Chilli, Jerry, Kevin and Bob started an exclusive, no holds-barred game of tag.
Now, over 20 years later, the five of them are mature, responsible adults.
That is, at least, for 11 months of the year.
As soon as May rolls around, it’s game on, and there are no limits as to how far the players will go, not only to tag one another, but also to avoid being tagged as well.
Unfortunately, this year the stakes just got higher as Jerry, the only player who has never been tagged, announces his plans to retire from the game at the end of the month and keep his perfect, unbroken record.
However, there is only one catch.
His friends aren’t about to let him get away that easy and they are prepared to do anything to tag Jerry, including crashing his wedding…
Directed by Jeff Tomsic, Tag is based on a true story that appeared in the Wall Street Journal about a group of friends who have been playing tag for the past 30 years.
Tag, just like the game, is a fun-filled, light-hearted comedy that is ideal for a Sunday night before its back to work for a case of the Mondays.
