It’s time to forget about work and unwind after a busy year.

What better way to relax than with a great movie like this one?

Kate Sullivan is a single mom of three daughters who works two jobs while studying to be a nurse. One of her jobs is as a carpet cleaner. The fun begins when she is hired to clean a luxury yacht belonging to Leonardo – a selfish, spoiled and wealthy Mexican playboy.

Leo makes rude remarks toward Kate and fires her without pay when she refuses to bring him food.

When Kate calls out his behaviour, Leo pushes her off the boat along with her cleaning equipment which she must now pay for.

After unjustly firing Kate, Leonardo falls off the boat and wakes up with no memory of who he is.

When his sister, Magda, visits him in hospital, still furious after finding out that their ailing father has left his business to Leonardo and not her, she learns of his amnesia and denies the man in the bed is her missing brother.

The media puts out a plea for anyone who knows him or who he is to come forward and let the hospital know his identity.

Knowing that his family are not looking for him, Kate takes her revenge.

She goes to the hospital and convinces the confused amnesiac that they’re married.

As Leonardo tries to get used to manual labour and his new family, both Kate and her daughters start to fall in love with him and he with them.

Leonardo’s second sister, Sophia, suspects Magda has done something to make their brother disappear and, after tracking him down, the family find him in suburbia.

Seeing his family, his memory returns and he storms off with his family, leaving Kate and her three daughters in tears.

Within minutes he realises his life has been richer and more rewarding with his new family and returns to make an (almost) honest living with them.

This is a remake of the 1987 movie of the same name, but with the roles reversed.

Overboard is a wonderful family movie, perfect for the holidays.
