Great recipes for any family.

The kitchen and a new recipe combine to make my happy place which means that I love leafing through a new recipe book and finding the most tantalising recipes.

This volume is possibly one of the best cook books I have had the pleasure of reading.

When this book came across my desk I was impressed with the author’s experimental attitude to cooking.

That and the fact that she believes, as I do, that butter is always the answer.

“If you substitute beautiful butter for low-fat synthetic alternatives or, give me strength, margarine, the food gods will punish you with flat soufflés and overcooked meat for the rest of your days.”

Having loved the intro, I found that the recipes, just the reading of them, filled me with excitement and an urge to try them all.

While every recipe I have tried has been sublime, my two favourites to date are Spencer’s Muffins which make the perfect breakfast muffin filled with fruit and made with whole wheat flour and yoghurt and peanut butter.

Perfectly (well almost) healthy and perfectly tasty.

The Prawn Capelli D’Angelo includes what I would describe as the best tomato sauce recipe I have ever come across – and I’ve tried some sauces in my time.

The book is filled with other delicious treats and, if you enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, this is one you need to add to your collection.
