Geduld-based Backstage Studio win top awards at Eisteddfod 2018

“They have once again exceeded my expectations,” says Alicia Flemming, teacher and owner of Backstage Studio.

Backstage Studio took part in the 2018 Eisteddfod on August 3 to 4 and put on an amazing show.

The Geduld-based dance studio entered 80 solo performances and three duets.

Three of the studio’s dancers were selected as top dancers at the Eisteddfod.

In the five years and under category, Johanica Hendricks (4) was chosen.

Mikayla du Plessis (7) was chosen in the eight years and under category and Keagan Burr-Dixon (8) was chosen for the 11 years and under category.

The Eisteddfod will also present a gala evening to which the top dancers of the various sections were invited and will take part in.

“Their hard work paid off. There is nothing more heart-warming to see how the students of Backstage excel.

“They have once again exceeded my expectations,” says Alicia Flemming, teacher and owner of Backstage Studio.
