• Three-koppie group hike of up to 10km through the Melville Koppies. Sets off at 8.30am sharp. Park, meet and pay in the upper car park at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. All donations are used to maintain the Koppies. Hikers must be fit and have good balance as paths are rocky and steep. Children must be over six years old. No dogs. • Armed with his turntables, the dynamic music maker Yuvir Pillay, known to his friends and fans as Sketchy Bongo, will be heading to Carnival City next week. He will be on the decks at Bru’s at 9pm.

June 16

• Youth Day will be celebrated at Palm Springs. The centre management is inviting all young budding entrepreneurs to set up their product/service or idea as a way of showcasing their offerings. There is no cost to exhibit but bookings are essential. Contact Carolynn Weedon on 082 443 3213

• The Avenues will be hosting a Father’s Day event from 10am to noon. Come and have fun making that special sweet sensation for Dad.
