If you were stranded in the wilderness, facing certain death, could you put your trust in a complete stranger in an effort to stay alive?

This is the ultimate live-or-die question two strangers are forced to ask themselves in the romantic survival drama The Mountain Between Us.
After their flight is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, photojournalist Alex and neurosurgeon Ben, two individuals who have never met before, decide to take an uncharted flight to get them safely to their respective destinations.
For Alex the flight is imperative as she is trying to get home in time for her wedding the next day, and for Ben, he is urgently needed in Baltimore to perform emergency surgery.
Of course, just like everything else in life, the moment something seems to be going right it all takes a dreadful turn for the worse when, shortly after take-off, the plane crashes on a mountain-top in the High Uintas Wilderness.
Tragically, the pilot, Walter, is killed and Alex, Ben and the pilot’s faithful dog (the real star of the film) are the only survivors.
Stranded in the wilderness, facing harsh, freezing weather conditions, Alex and Ben are soon confronted with the terrifying reality that they may never be found.
Not willing to perish out in the snow, the two, and their faithful four-legged companion, set off across the treacherous terrain trying to find their way back home.
However, if Ben and Alex manage to survive the ordeal, will they have the strength to come to terms with everything they endured?

The Mountain Between Us is a film about hope and a friendship/romance born out of impossible circumstances.
