The Sweet Resistance join +LIVE+ on stage

The countdown to +LIVE’s+ tour dates in South Africa has begun, and Newly-formed alt rockers The Sweet Resistance have been confirmed to open for +LIVE+ in South Africa when they perform in Pretoria on November 10 and 11.

Presented by AMP Events, the show promises to feature all the highlights from +LIVE+’s incredible 25-year repertoire.

“+LIVE+ is one of the greatest alt rock acts of our time and their fan base here in South Africa is second to none” says AMP CEO Andy Mac.

“All three shows are almost sold out! Now with the inclusion of the Sweet Resistance we’re in for an incredible tour”.

The show will take place at Sun Arena at Time Square, Menlyn Maine in Pretoria.

Formed in Cape Town, The Sweet Resistance have seen three singles off their debut album playlisted on 5FM this year.

Feel was at number one on the 5FM SA Top30 and the follow-up Captivated went straight to number one on the Top 10 at 10.

They received critical acclaim after opening for PIXIES in Johannesburg earlier this year.

“We’ve been blessed with an incredible 2017 – and now to wrap it up by touring with +LIVE+ is a dream come true” says lead singer Tash Meister.

The original line-up of +LIVE+ – Ed Kowalczyk (vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (guitar, backing vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer(bass) and Chad Gracey (drums, percussion) recently reunited for this worldwide tour.

“Fans of +LIVE+ have always shown incredible support when this band tours SA” says AMP CEO Andy Mac.

“Bands with a great legacy, such as +LIVE+, are the reason I started AMP Events and I can’t wait to see these guys rock out on stage”.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of their debut album Mental Jewelry which was released on December 31, 1991.

The multi-platinum band from Pennsylvania have sold over 22-million albums worldwide and earned two number one albums (Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi).

Their catalogue is filled with such gems as Lightning Crashes, I Alone, All Over You, and Lakini’s Juice, which live on today as classics at rock radio.
