It features a great cast who come together to make this slapstick comedy an entertaining watch from start to finish.

The film stars Shepard as Officer Jon Baker and Michael Peña as Frank “Ponch” Poncherello, with Rosa Salazar, Adam Brody and Vincent D’Onofrio in supporting roles.

When new recruit, Jon Baker – a freestyle motocross racer – is paired with veteran FBI agent Ponch, things can only go awry as they each bring their brand of law enforcement to the team.

While he isn’t really an ideal candidate for the highway patrol, a little flirting sees Baker placed on the force on a probationary basis with explicit instructions on what he needs to do to stay on the team.

Ponch, on the other hand, is going undercover after it becomes apparent, during an armoured car robbery, that there are corrupt cops working in the department.

After getting off to a rocky start, an awkward bathroom incident sees the two seeing each other’s strengths over their weaknesses and it become apparent the pair are ideally suited.

Baker teaches Ponch everything there is to know about motorcycles, and Ponch turns Baker into a great cop, with some wonderfully funny moments along the way.

This may not be your cup of tea if your interest lies in dour, serious movies, but for everyone else this movie offers a great number of laughs.
