Since the dawn of film making, writers, directors, special effects’ wizards and studios have been giving cinema-goers, across the world, legendary and iconic creatures and characters which will forever be remembered.

Who can forget the rampage of the giant monster Godzilla?

How many people are still afraid to swim in the sea after watching Jaws (directed by the master Steven Spielberg and based on the terrifying book by Peter Benchley)?

And how many people have dressed up like Freddy Krueger or worn a Michael Myres mask to a Halloween party?

In Kong: Skull Island, one of the most iconic monsters of all time returns to the screen for another exciting adventure, only now he is not wrecking havoc across Manhattan or fighting off planes from the top of the Empire State Building.

This time, the fight is in Kong’s natural environment, on a hidden island somewhere in the South Pacific.

The Vietnam War is coming to an end, but before the brave soldiers of the helicopter squadron, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard, can return to their families, they have one more mission.

They have to escort a group of scientists to Skull Island, where, over the years, planes and ships have mysteriously disappeared.

The expedition – headed by government agent William Randal and accompanied by skilled tracker James Conrad and over-ambitious photojournalist and peace activist Mason Weaver – immediately runs into trouble when the helicopters fly over the island and enrage the mighty Kong.

After fighting another losing battle, the soldiers and scientists find themselves trapped on an island which is as dangerous as it is beautiful.

Fearing for their lives, the survivors make their way across Kong’s domain and soon discover that the giant ape-like creature is not all that’s hunting them.

With blood-thirsty creatures emerging all around, the ultimate battle between man and nature is only just about to begin.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island is an exciting, fast-paced action adventure which features some incredible special effects and breathtaking landscapes.

If you are curious to find out the fate of the stranded crew, then don’t miss Kong: Skull Island, now available on DVD.
