DVD review: The Edge of Seventeen
If stupid teenagers and angst aren't your thing, give this one a skip.

Think teenage angst at its worst.
Nadine, an awkward 17-year-old with only one friend, finds herself alone in her pitiful world when Krista, the friend, decides to start dating Nadine’s brother Darian.
In Nadine’s eyes Darien is the ever-perfect son and the bane of her existence, so when Krista starts dating him Nadine calls off the friendship.
What follows is a lot of really far-fetched drama – even by teenage standards.
This includes a far-fetched relationship with her teacher which boarders on the inappropriate and a steamy text to the boy she likes telling him, in graphic detail, about her sexual desires.
When said boy tries to take her up on her offer she is surprised and upset – almost like the thought hadn’t occurred to her than when offered no-strings-attached sex, a teenage boy might jump at the offer.
I’m not sure who the target audience for this movie is, but with a lead character this stupid and irritating you’d be wise to just give this a skip.
