Jazz Legends with Hugh Masekela postponed

Hugh Masekela will not perform on June 17 due to an injury.

Carnival City has confirmed the much anticipated Soulful Nights: Jazz Legends Edition with Hugh Masekela has been postponed until further notice.

The event, set to feature Caiphus Semenya, Bhudaza and Dumza Maswana, was scheduled to take place in the Big Top Arena on June 17.

The concert has been postponed following an injury sustained by Masekela after a fall during a trip to Morocco in April.

He dislocated his shoulder which exacerbated an old injury and has undergone surgery which requires eight weeks of recovery time.

This means that he will only be well enough to perform again after August.

“Although we know that fans will be disappointed, we understand that the postponement is necessary and we fully support the decision as Masekela’s health is most

important.

“We wish him well during his recuperation.

“A new date for the concert will be confirmed for later in the year,” says Carnival City’s marketing manager, Michelle Smith.

All purchased or booked tickets for the concert are fully refundable.
