Herman’s star shines brightly
Herman Human (28) has been nominated by the Liberty Radio Awards as South Africa’s next bright star.
He’s a radio personality, aspiring television host and model who’s ready to take on the world.
Herman discovered his passion for preforming and presenting a few years ago.
His journey as a radio personality began at East Rand Stereo where he currently works.
He hosts a number of shows including the afternoon drive, school news, sports news and breakfast shows which he hosts on weekends.

When asked how it feels being nominated as a future leader, Herman comments: “I’m extremely excited and grateful to be recognised by the Liberty Radio Awards as this is the beginning of great things for me.”
He mentions how blessed he is to have a management team that always supports him and his colleagues who are always there for him.
“Our management team really paves the way for us,” he says.
He says the one thing that he never takes for granted is the management team because without them he wouldn’t be here to begin with.
“They are a great support structure for me personally,” he adds.
What are some of the pros and cons of being in this industry?
Discussing some of the pros and cons of the radio Indistry, Herman says the cons include: “Radio is an extremely competitive industry.

“It’s literally survival of the fittest,” he says.
“It’s a cut throat industry and people don’t care about your feelings at time,” he adds.
“Callers say anything to you and forget that you’re human.”
The pros including impacting people’s lives and interacting with listeners on a daily basis.
This means the world to him he says, being the face of his community and building new friendships is what radio is about and that’s what he loves most.
Commenting on the state of South Africa, he says: “I’m disappointed at us as the youth in South Africa and how we choose to deal with situations,” he says.
He mentions that the inability of the coming together of all races to resolve issues is what disappoints him the most.
He further states that we should focus on building a better future for all South African’s and the only way we can do that is by moving on from our past struggles.
Talking about his dreams and ambitions, he says: “I want to be the kind of public figure who changes people’s lives and their perceptions about the world.”
Through radio he believes that this is attainable.
He also wishes to start a mentorship programme for young men who have lost their way.
Through this programme he hopes he can impact lives and in turn, all those that he’s helped can help someone else.
