Three home-brewed bands live at Carnival City

Some of South Africa’s best loved, authentically local bands will come together for the 2016 Home Brewed Music Concert at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on Sunday.

Some of South Africa’s best loved, authentically local bands will come together for the 2016 Home Brewed Music Concert at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on Sunday.These bands include The Soil, Mafikizolo, The Muffinz and Velaphi Live.

The doors will open at 3pm and the the show will start at 4pm.

Fans of The Soil, Mafikizolo, The Muffinz and Velaphi Live are expected to show up in their numbers to catch them live on stage.

Well-known comedian Donovan Goliath will be the MC.

Matthew Cook, Carnival City’s events and entertainment manager, says they are delighted to provide the stage for this concert which will bring together four popular South African bands for one awesome show.

The Soil, an award-winning group, performs what they describe as ‘Kasi Soul’ – an eclectic mix of musical genres such as jazz, hip-hop, Afro-pop and Afro-soul.

Mafikizolo has won 10 SAMAs, eight Metro FM Music Awards, two MAMAs, two international music awards and one Channel O Music Video Award.

It is undoubtedly one of the most successful music groups to come out of SA.

Mafikizolo hits include Meet Me At The River and Marabi.
