Insane drifting at Carnival City

Mad Mike Whiddett will entertain local drifting enthusiasts in the SupaDrift drifting competition at Carnival City on September 23 and 24.

He hails from New Zealand where he has drifted a car up a mountain range.

Mike has power-slid across a frozen lake in Japan and will now film an episode of his reality series Mad Mike Mad Life in South Africa.

Doing the impossible in his 2004 Mazda RX 8, dubbed the ‘Badbul’ he will also judge a drifting competition as part of his efforts to develop the sport in South Africa.

His vehicle is fitted with the best products on the market, high horse-power and slaying sound, making it something special to see and hear.

“I’ve seen the local SA drift scene in clips and it looks like a whole lot of fun,” says Mike.

Michelle Smith, marketing manager of Carnival City, says they enjoy playing host to a diversity of performers, not only on their stages but outdoors as well.

Gates open at 9am and the drifting will be between noon and 6pm on Friday and 11am to 6pm on Saturday.
