Watch: Music festival fun with Pieter Koen

The popular annual Meat World Music Festival was well attended on Saturday.

Popular Afrikaans singer Pieter Koen and KykNet’s Jukebox presenter was the guest artist, along with several other well-known Afrikaans celebrities.

Frans Swart, from Lefra Productions, who organised the event, says Pieter was most definitely one of the draw cards on the day.

Stars who performed were Francois van Rensburg, Rembrandt van Rijn, Alwyn Oberholster, Arina de Witt and Sharoney.

The stage performance Liewe Heksie and Botterblom was also performed on the day and was very popular with more than 1 000 kids as audience.

“Although it was very difficult to perform the full production of Liewe Heksie on the open stage, it was a wonderful performance and the children’s reaction was overwhelming,” said Ana van Achterbergh, playing Liewe Heksie.

Springs resident Rose Mkwanazi was the lucky winner of the Ford Figo.

“I really prayed that God must give me this car and He answered my prayers, I am so lucky and grateful,” she said.

The community arrived with their camp chairs to enjoy the celebrity entertainment.

The festival also boasted a wonderful flea market with more than 30 stalls.

A few people enjoyed the helicopter flips, which continued until late Saturday afternoon.
