In Die Eerste Stadshaan (City Rooster) Kloupoot the rooster is woken up by the sound of hooting cars.

He was very upset when he discovered that the city is expanding rapidly, right up to the quiet farm where he lives.

Kloupoot decides he should leave the farm to find a much quieter one.

But he cannot just pick up and leave everything on the farm.

Year after year this rooster crowed early in the morning to wake people and animals on the farm up and it is his duty to find someone suitable to take over his job.

He decides to hold auditions to find the appropriate bird who can replace him.

After many entertaining events and frustrating auditions Kloupoot finally finds his perfect replacement.

Jaydon Robertson (3) was intrigued by all the beautiful colour illustrations the book offers.

Being a farm boy, he loved the book and asked me to read it to him over and over again.

It was fun reading the book with Jaydon and he loved to give all the animals in the illustrations individual names.

Parents can use Die Eerste Stadshaan as a wonderful bedtime storybook that will take their children on a journey to a farm, its rooster Kloupoot and his animal friends.
