She’s coming to get you

40 years after the first haunting at Eel Marsh house, the house has a new group to prey on.

A group of school children, and two of their teachers, are sent to the house for their safety when they are evacuated from London during World War Two.

Almost immediately after arriving, The Woman in Black, whose son drowned in the marsh, starts preying on the children.

While her target is Edward, a little boy who has literally been rendered speechless by the death of both his parents after their house was bombed during an air raid, she attacks two other children who have been less than nice to the little boy.

Soon it becomes apparent to one of the teachers, Eve Parkins, that Edward is being targeted but no else believes her and brushes off her attempts to remove the children from the house until it is too late and two of the children are dead.

While this is theoretically the sequel to The Woman in Black, released in 2012, the story is completely self-sustaining and there is no need to have watched the first film in order to understand the nuances of this one.

In fact, this film is a lot better than the first film and with more of a back story you can look forward to a complex and enjoyable film.

Aside from the ghost’s fixation on Edward, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death also leaves the viewer wondering about the precise nature of Eve’s relationship with Edward.

It’s a ghost story dark enough to keep you interested but not scary enough to keep you awake at night.
