Don’t judge a DVD by its cover

DVD: Treehouse Reviewed by: Gareth Drawbridge Review made possible by: SterKinekor

They say one should never judge a book by its cover.

Well, this also applies to DVDs.

Upon first glance, you would be forgiven for expecting Treehouse to be a decent or even semi-decent horror, as the cover depicts an abandoned tree house with bodies hanging from surrounding branches.

Unfortunately, this is as good as the film gets.

After several children go missing in a small town, a curfew is put in place.

However, two brothers, Crawford (Daniel Fredrick) and Killian (J Michael Trautmann) sneak out to have a party in the woods.

While they are shooting off fireworks, the two come across an abandoned tree house and decide to climb up and have a look.

Inside, they find an injured and terrified girl called Elizabeth (Dana Melanie).

The brothers attempt to assist her and soon, they are all stalked by a vicious gang.

At some points, the film becomes slightly disjointed and also seems to lose the plot (and genre) completely.

Despite having some potential, the movie fails to deliver and any expectations one has from the cover are soon forgotten.
