A family affair

“Some call it organised crime, others call it family.”

The family is about a Mafia family in witness protection, on the run from some very bad men.

A stellar cast, led by Robert de Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer, make this a fun romp through Normandy, France where they have been sent in an effort to save their lives.

While the mob father is a relatively (well not really) peaceful citizen in their new home, his wife, son and daughter immediately set about turning the town upside down with their not too gentle persuasion techniques.

Mom’s good with gas and matches, the daughter is excellent with a tennis racket – and not too shabby with a variety of semi-automatic weapons and the son is simply a bully. Together, you don’t want to cross this seemingly sweet suburban crew.

It’s a fun look at the Mafia with none of the usual seriousness and all the humour needed to make this an excellent evening’s entertainment.

If you are looking for something in the ilk of the Godfather, this one is not for you, but if you want a movie which comes across as the Mafia making fun of itself, this is definitely going to be you Cannoli.
