Attention capturing thriller

The smart and attention capturing psychological thriller, Side Effects, is intended to make you think about what medication can really do to people.

The movie is about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist (Jude Law), intended to treat anxiety, has unexpected side effects.

The storyline gets involved in itself and you get a little lost in it, but it still manages to keep you guessing and throws in some twists you do not expect at all.

The character of Emily is played out so well that you actually believe she is the victim in the story, with her pleading innocence and playing on the emotions of the characters around her.

It is a movie where almost every line spoken has a meaning, and under that, a hidden meaning.

Because it is possible to get completely lost in the plot, to get the brilliant creation of the movie, it is advisable to watch it a second time to understand the cleaver twists thrown in by the director.
