Gingers golfers tee off

Harvey Scott said the greens had just been hollowed; they were slow, but otherwise, the course at Pollak Park Golf Club was in immaculate condition.

The Pollak Park Golf Club hosted the first tournament for the year on Saturday.

The monthly Gingers Golf Day challenge between friends has been running for over 30 years.

The Gingers was started by a Springs stalwart, Ginger Campbell-Atkins.

Harvey Scott said that the players performed admirably on the sunny morning field.

The winners of the day were:
Stuart Murray (43 IPS points)
Allan Morgan (40 IPS points)
Leane Phillips (39 IPS points)
Milk tart doubles: Stuart Murray and Nick Murray (51 betterball points)
King of the shorts: Stuart Murray (12 points)
Longest drive: Charl Stoop
