Sensei shares his knowledge with other instructors

Sensei holds karate seminar.

On Saturday, Pan African Shotokan Karate Federation (PASKF) chief instructor sensei Michael Cindi hosted International Shokotan Karate Federation (ISKF) chief instructor San Pillay to conduct a karate seminar at PASKF headquarters dojo in Selcourt.

The seminar was held as a way to share the knowledge of martial arts and karate and share the knowledge with instructors of other dojos.

Pillay said,” I have been doing karate since 1969. I was only 13 at the time and trying to protect myself from bullying, so this year is my 54th year doing karate and I hold an 8th Dan black belt.”

He further added that in June this year, he will be boarding a plane to Philadelphia for the ISKF master camp.

“In karate, you need to make sure you are proficient in all aspects including the 3Ks, kihon, kata and kumite,” said Pillay.

With the help of his late Sensei Robby Reddy, Pillay managed to achieve his goals. The two-and-a-half hours session was also shared with some of the students to train with Pillay.
