Tennis players show old age not a factor
Sandra Kock and Deidre Vrey made their way to the finals but had to share their title with their rivals due to poor lighting.
Seven of Selection Park Tennis Club’s finest players competed in the Soweto Seniors Tournament last weekend.
The matches were played on Saturday and Sunday. Single results were as follows:
• Mike Ritchie won in the 70 and over group.
• Eben Mare won in the 45 and over age group
• Deidre Vrey came second in the 50 and over age group.
• Sandra Kock came third in the 60 and over age group.
• Krish Moodley finished fifth in the 60 and over age group.

• Krish Moodley and Pierre Vrey came third place in the men’s 50 and over age group.
• Mike Ritchie and his partner finished third in the 55 and over age group.
• Eben Mare and Scott Wiggil played in the back draw but their match was cancelled due to bad lighting as well.
