Hiking club gains momentum

Rea Hamba Hiking Club hosted its third successful hiking excursion on Saturday.
“We managed to gather 80 people in five taxis to Hennops Hiking Trail in Pretoria.
“We are glad to see old and young people joining us.

Rea Hamba is inviting the public to join them on their next hiking excursion.

“People are coming from Daveyton, Kwa-Thema, Tsakani, Duduza and other areas,” said Collien Madimba, one of the original members of the club.

He believes the group can cater to the whole of Ekurhuleni.
The club was established in February when a group of gym partners came together for their first excursion to Suikerbosrand in Heidelberg.
Madimba explained the group was inspired to start the club when they realised there were no hiking clubs in Springs.

“We don’t have a date for our May excursion yet but we know we are going to Modderfotein Reserve,” he added.
The group aims to host at least one event each month.
