HOT fighters continue to dominate

“I believe we have some of the best fighters, not only in South Africa but in the world.”

Fighters from House of Tinkerbell (HOT) displayed another dominant performance at the Versus MMA Promotions competition last weekend at the Barnyard Theatre in Parkview Mall.
Peace Nguphane and Nathanial Komana continued their good form and both won in their respective categories.
Nguphane walked away as the welterweight champion and Komana became the new featherweight champion.
“I believe we have some of the best fighters, not only in South Africa but in the world. These guys continue to impress me every day.
“They give it their all every day, and that shows in the ring,” said coach JP Kruger.

Komana won his fight against Guide Moyo within the first minute via a tap out.
“I tried to go for a kick, but I slipped and fell and he jumped on me. I was able to use a Brazilian jiu-jitsu grapple taught by Huntley Smith and he tapped out,” said Komana.
He said the most important part of the fight was to understand his emotions and not allow them to get the best of him.
“I train with some of the best fighters in the country at HOT, which has prepared me for anything that can happen in a fight.
“I’m blessed with a great team; I think that’s what gives me an advantage over my opponents.”

For Nguphane, the fight was more personal as he previously lost to his opponent, Geulor Sondi.
“I had fought him before and I lost, so I had some more motivation going in. We knew he was very aggressive and would tire himself out by the second round, so I had to be patient,” he said.
Nguphane won his fight via a technical knockout.
