A group of gym partners have come together to establish Rea Hamba Hiking Club.
Collien Madimba, one of the founding members, explained the group was inspired to start the club when they realised there were no hiking clubs in Springs.
“We had our first excursion in February to Suikerbosrand in Heidelberg.
“It was a success because we filled up two taxis,” said Madimba, adding the community responded even better to their second excursion.

Last week the group explored Cradle Moon Lakeside in Muldersdrift, with more than 40 people eager to hit the trails.
“We are inviting the community to all of our events.
“They don’t even need to join the club,” said Madimba.
The club’s next excursion is on April 24 to Hennops Hiking Trail in Pretoria.
The group’s aims to host at least one event each month.
