Social distancing at House of Tinkerbell

House of Tinkerbell recently opened its doors and MMA fighters started training last week.

The training of younger athletes resumed on Saturday morning.

The class consisted of only two coaches and three fighters, with social distancing observed.

Designated areas are outlined on the floor with red tape and fighters are to stay within these at all times.

Parents drop off their children and wait outside until training has finished, and no spectators are allowed.

While classes are made up of smaller groups, more sessions will be added to ensure every fighter gets time to train.

Coaches and fighters alike have their temperatures taken before being allowed on the mat.

Coach and owner of House of Tinkerbell JP Kruger is glad to finally get back to training.

“The coaches, the athletes and everyone else involved have been cooperating and following the rules,” he said.

All training will remain non-contact based until lockdown restrictions have been lifted.
