Team hopes to get back on the pitch soon

The current reigning champions of the Tsamaya Masters Social Football League RDP Master remain confident in their abilities and team performance as a club.

Kwa-Thema – The current reigning champions of the Tsamaya Masters Social Football League RDP Master remain confident in their abilities and team performance as a club.

The team has encouraged its senior players to train individually at their homes, public parks and to return to gym.

Andries Mothehi Mofokeng, one of the club management, says while they continue to wait for the report of the minister of sports on a way forward with the continuation of sporting activities, they haven’t dropped the ball.

“Adapting hasn’t been a walk in the park. We are almost three months into the lockdown, so yes that’s enough to take a toll on anyone but I am glad that we as a team have managed to stick together and created platforms and means to communicate with each other.

“At the moment we are waiting for the minister to give us a way forward, as a team we have been making contributions to ensure that all our unemployed players have food and the basic necessities,” says Mofokeng.

He says reducing restrictions of exercising will benefit players.

“Getting some exercises out and about comes as a relief because people in general need fresh air, it clears your mind, thought process and so forth.

“Therefore in terms of our fitness levels we remain confident that if we were to compete in a tournament right now we would still come out tops.

“Our team is known for working hard, which comes with a lot of discipline and we are much disciplined, which is why I have so much faith in our players.”
