Springs Wheelers take part in the Fast One cycle road race
Two local junior U17 riders took part in the open 50km road race, with Jayden Gould coming second and Kyle Robertson seventh.
The Springs Wheelers excelled at the Fast One cycle road race that took place in the Midvaal race on Sunday.

Gould missed the top spot by an agonising three seconds, with just 40 seconds covering the first 13 places.

Both boys are members of the Springs Wheelers cycling club, and have been riding for a number of years.
Gould has been riding competitively for a year, and this was just the second road race event that Robertson has taken part in.
Both boys are lifelong friends, and both attend The School of Achievement in Germiston, currently in Grade 9.
Gould has just been signed by the Cycling Box racing team, a new team that is looking to promote up-and-coming youngsters in the sport of cycling.

Two other Wheelers, Norman and Tammy Dixon, took part in the 97km road race with Norman finishing in a time of 3h28 and Tammy 3h48.
Springs Wheelers committee member, Ian Gould, says they are looking to promote cycling in the Springs community, both road and mountain bike.
“We cater to all levels, from novice to the more experienced cyclist,” says Gould.
